Job Overview
Hathway is seeking a mid-to-advanced level native mobile application tester with professional experience using two or more of the following technologies: Android Studio, Appium, Charles Proxy, Crashlytics/Firebase, Cypress automation framework, Mesmer, Postman, Xcode; or similar.
Responsibilities
- Execute tests against mobile and web applications & document results
- Re-produce software issues and complete detailed defect reports in Jira
- Create and maintain test suites using a test management system
- Raise valid questions, blockers, and concerns to appropriate leaders as needed
- Review business requirements and design specifications and provide constructive feedback as needed
- Analyze, review, define, and finalize the severity of defects according to the pervasiveness and magnitude of user impact
- Monitor production releases for quality and stability
- Create and/or maintain testing documentation such as project environment configuration, testing resources & data, integrations, and other information
- Prioritize, document, & communicate test coverage of acceptance criteria, design specifications, critical paths and regression
- Create test plans and document procedures throughout development cycle for complex projects
- Determine overall technical test strategy by proposing solutions and evaluating tools used on complex projects
- Analyze overall product quality and communicate risks to project stakeholders prior to release
- Estimate level of effort for testing complex projects and provide status updates as needed
- Provide support, guidance, and examples for others to follow
- Mentor and occasionally train others on specialized processes, knowledge, or skills
- Contribute to automated testing, API collections, or other reusable test libraries/scripts
- Develop and leverage a strong understanding of key partner software and integration technology for testing
- Assist in the maintenance of JIRA / helpdesk
- Support others with knowledge & application of ADA, Accessibility, WCAG industry standards & company best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and develop solutions that meet client needs
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
- Excellent critical thinking & problem-solving skills
- Strong computing/IT/software skills; familiarity with Mac, PC, & mobile device operating systems
- Must be able to work cohesively as a member of the team
- Able to multitask and prioritize tasks across multiple projects
- Able to independently and efficiently manage, optimize, and accurately track own time
- Strong technical communication skills
- 4+ years experience in QA or related technical field and/or Bachelor's (BS) degree in Computer Science/Engineering and some professional experience
