May 22nd is recognised as Pizza Day, marking the day fifteen years ago when the first recorded commercial transaction of Bitcoin was made.
Laszlo Hanyecz purchased two Papa John pizzas for 10,000BTC, at the time the value of the transaction was about $40. The value of the transaction today stands at about $1.1bn USD.
Today the Bitcoin price is currently trading in the region of $111,000 USD per coin.
