Financial Institutions and Counterparty Credit ("FICC") within Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) is responsible for proactively managing Citi's credit exposures across the globe through a coverage model of regional and industry specialists. The portfolio consists of banks, broker/dealers, insurance companies, funds, hedge funds, amongst other counterparty types. Credit-sensitive products and services include loans, derivatives and other capital markets products, trade finance, clearing and settlement, cash, and securities services. We're currently looking for a suitable candidate to join our FICC EMEA Insurance team as SVP(Senior Vice president)/Credit Risk Senior Officer graded C14, based in London, UK. What you'll do: - Assist the EMEA Insurance Portfolio Manager in providing independent second line risk oversight of the regional portfolio including credit portfolio management and stress testing. Escalate emerging trends and specific risks in a diligent and timely manner as necessary. Ensure the covering insurance portfolio remains within the risk appetite of the overall business strategy: - Reviewer and Credit Approver for Episodic Deals as well as Initial, Annual and Interim Credit Reviews within delegated credit authority. - Interface with coverage bankers or markets colleagues to review and challenge credit requests especially for complex, bespoke structured transactions. - Partner with other Risk Units such as ICM (Institutional Credit Management), CGME (Citigroup Global Markets Europe AG) Risk and CEP (Citibank Europe plc) Risk to ensure extensions of credit are in full compliance with all applicable Policies, Standards and Procedures, and target market criteria. - Conduct client calls where required for material multi-product credit relationships. - Interface with Internal Audit, Fundamental Credit Review and other control functions - Actively participate in ongoing portfolio reviews at the Regional as well as Credit Product level. - Additionally, the candidate is expected to oversee Counterpart Credit Risk (CCR) through continued implementation of CCR metrics, exposure controls, and reporting across Potential Future Exposure (PFE), Stress Testing, and Risk Factor Sensitivities. What we'll need from you: - Preferably a Senior Credit Officer (SCO) or close to obtaining this. - Extensive experience in FI (Financial Institution) risk management required, with relevant insurance credit or lending experience with a broad exposure to various banking products - The ability to identify and clearly communicate deterioration in portfolio or credit quality and anticipate potential loss - Proven analytic and negotiation skills - Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication - Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred What we can offer you: This is a role that'll offer you the opportunity to build an in-depth knowledge of financial services operations.
