BUSINESS SEGMENT AND ROLE OVERVIEW Equities and FICC: We make markets in and clear client transactions on major stock, options and futures exchanges worldwide. Through our global sales force, we maintain relationships with our clients, receiving orders and distributing investment research, trading ideas, market information and analysis. Business Unit Overview Fundamental Strategies Group (FSG) is a team of desk analysts within the Global Markets Division working closely with sales and trading to generate, implement, manage and market trade ideas across the capital structure, and advise on trading desk positioning. This is a dynamic, entrepreneurial team with a passion for the financial markets, composed of individuals who thrive in fast-paced, changing environments and are energized by a bustling trading floor. Job Summary & Responsibilities Fundamental Strategies Group (FSG) is looking for an individual to join its Corporate credit team in London. Set within a team-based, dynamic environment, the successful candidate will be responsible for the coverage of a number of issuers, and will help Goldman Sachs manage risk and add value for institutional clients through cross-capital trade ideas. Key responsibilities will include: Generating trade ideas (long/short, cash/CDS) through a combination of detailed fundamental micro and macro analyses Building and maintaining financial models Analysing debt documentation (indentures, credit agreements) Developing relationships with buy-side institutional clients Producing both periodic and ad hoc content on trade ideas, investment themes, and markets analysis Advising trading and sales on market flows and positioning within European HY and IG Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree with experience in fundamental analysis (IBD, Leveraged Finance, sell-side or buy-side) Excellent financial modelling and analysis skill set Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and in presentation form) Keen interest in financial markets and investing Intellectual curiosity and drive to acquire new skills and cross-train in new products Commercial orientation and ability to adapt to dynamic environment and markets Preferred Qualifications Established relationships with institutional investors and hedge funds Experience in leveraged finance and/or credit trading Fluency in one or more European language Good understanding of credit metrics and legal terms governing credit agreements
