My client, a global hedge fund, seeks a talented Software Developer to join their London Office. You will be joining a fast-growing team of talented technologists, risk, trade operations, quantitative and investment professionals within the firm and will be tasked with designing, maintaining and delivering solutions to their risk management and trading desks. You will be expected to interact directly with the business users in the investment control, middle office and risk spaces, and be able to understand and interpret their requirements, whilst ensuring solutions are delivered in a strategic and sustainable way. The ideal candidate would have exceptional technical skills and a strong interest in the life cycles of trades. The role offers great exposure to the many and varied aspects of a hedge fund, and you will be expected to be a good communicator (reporting into the CRO), a strong team player, an open-minded collaborator and able to bring your own and others innovative ideas to life. Key Responsibilities will include: Maintaining and developing their Windows-based technical stack Understanding the intricacies of fixed income trades using their proprietary order management system Sending and receiving data to and from third parties (mostly in CSV format/via SFTP) Managing their security master and market data platform Developing and supporting internal applications that deliver data and functionality to the firm investment professionals and traders Maintain and develop a FIX engine Ideal candidates will have: 2-5 years of software development experience Excellent Python and Excel/VBA skills / C++ is desired SQL database experience (MS SQL Server preferred but not necessary) Web technologies experience Knowledge of Perl Some experience with Advent Geneva is desired Familiarity with functional programming is helpful because much code base has a strong functional influence Ability to write batch and shell scripts Apply now directly by sending your CV to
