Build a web-based climate platform that uses AI and data science to accelerate net zero. Tech stack autonomy, you pick Ruby/PHP/Node/Go/Python etc. Equity, Remote (monthly trip to Devon/Somerset), move to CTO quickly. An incredible opportunity for a Senior Developer to join a well-funded start-up in the South-West building a web-based climate data platform to help accelerate the transition to net zero. Join at MVP stage and help architect, scale, and grow this ambitious, ingenious venture with the opportunity to become CTO. CEO has asked for candidates to be South West (UK) based). What skills youll be needing Significant experience building responsive, interactive web-based applications; preferably greenfield/MVP products in a small/start-up environment. Start-up mindset: relentlessly resourceful, solutions orientated, willing to move quickly, willing to learn how to do things you cant do currently, hack things together and willingness to adapt to changing organisational needs. A wide technical skillset with the ability to help determine the best code base and architecture for the platform (happy to consider Ruby/Rails, PHP/Laravel, Node.js, Go or Python for the MVP). Experience using Azure, Google Cloud or AWS. Strong interest and ideally some experience in data science and machine learning. Solid UI/Front-End skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Background or keen interest in climate action projects. What you'll be doing Theyre looking for you to develop a rapid MVP taking into account early user interviews and with support from the wider team. Duties will include the design of the initial UI of the platform, overseeing the development and documentation of REST APIs, and integrating analytics into the platform. Using AI and Machine Learning its expected that the product will help facilitate better data discovery and data flows to enable renewables-heavy electricity networks, efficient zero-emission transport, deforestation-free supply chains and better emissions reporting. On occasion theyd like you to be able to present the product, taking ownership for its development and growth. What youll get in return for your talents The opportunity to build a platform that will have a significantly positive impact in battling the climate crisis. You will have autonomy from the outset to choose the best tech for the task and help shape the technical direction of the business as CTO when they scale. Alongside a very competitive salary (£65K-£100K), you will hold equity in the business from the start. Other benefits will include 25 days holiday, pension, training/development opportunities, flexible working/hours and more to follow. Above all this role will suit an experienced Developer who has built and taken a product to market with a passion for climate action. Whats next Like the sounds of this one?
