For more information visit www.marex.com Role Summary HPC SA, part of the Marex Group, are looking for an experienced European Power/Carbon broker to join our existing team. The candidate must have existing relationships with major clients across all European hubs. Ideally this candidate will also have some carbon coverage and experience. The job can be located in any of our global offices, London/Paris/Milan/Dubai. Travelling and entertainment of clients is a must. The candidate will need to join the current working ethos of the team; to be hardworking and diligent. The HPC SA Energy department is one of the world’s leading Gas and JKM brokers, with access to all major clients. Overall Responsibilities Must have a MINIMUM of 3 years carbon broking experience Coverage of clients for carbon broking. Entertainment of clients. Work within the energy team to look for synergies and trading opportunities with other desks such as Marex Solutions. Offer clear and precise information to clients whilst always fulfilling our regulatory requirements. Must be FCA regulated. Knowledge of exchanges such as ICE and EEX a must. Strong attention to detail, working within an electronic market. Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the FCA. Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with. Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values. At all times complying with the FCA’s Code of Conduct. Carrying out regulatory activities under the Marex Financial and MSIL trading books Liaising with clients globally including banks, hedge funds, utilities, market makers, fund managers, institutionals, trading houses and other trading boutiques. To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role, or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility. To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as required. To escalate risk events immediately. To provide input to risk management processes, as required. Substantial experience working in and knowledge of an energy product area. Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this. Experience in operating on electronic market making infrastructure. Experience in risk managing of client portfolios.
