About our Team: The Estimation Controls Teams supports the consumer-facing businesses within Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) and Asset Wealth Management (AWM). Our teams mainly serve across Estimation Development and Estimation Controls offering colleagues multiple engagement opportunities across large business functions within Controls, Data & Analytics, Quantitative Analytics and 1 st line of defense communities. We have an expansive network of relationships across the business and interact with all levels of management to execute Controls Strategic Initiatives. Our diverse team is a specialized group of Control Managers, Data Scientists and Quantitative Managers delivering end to end Predictive analytics, Strategic modernization initiatives and Estimation Controls Governance improving the effectiveness of the Firm’s Control Framework and processes. The Controls Manager Program opportunity offers a hybrid role across analytic, transition skills and traditional Controls/ Program Governance Responsibilities. We use analytic skills, methods and thinking to solve problems, create data that tells a story, provide feedback, and deliver objective insights. We translate between analytic and non-analytic groups as well as facilitate holistic, cross functional learning. Additionally, we must possess the ability to work with and synthesize large amounts of data into actionable analysis and provide a point of view to the Control Management partners that helps them evaluate the effectiveness of the Firm’s control framework. We provide these descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to support the control environment which is a cornerstone for the Firm. About the Role: Because our team has a diverse scope of services, we have the unique opportunity to place a new hire in a position that fits their interest and skillset. We will ask them to challenge the status quo, brainstorm on projects scope, and approach and contribute to our internal innovation think tank where we collectively solve complex and high visibility problems. Individual responsibilities could include, but are not limited to: Job Responsibilities: Data Analytics – Mining and analyzing data to package key Estimation responsibilities supporting CORE Triggers and Metrics. Estimation Controls Governance – Evaluating key Estimation Controls and business owned governance processes for automation opportunities. Business Requirements – Elicitation of business requirements and translation into specifications that can be used to implement the intelligent solution Intelligent Solution Development – Using programming skills, pull data from various JPMC data warehouses and create datasets that satisfy the requirements Project Management – Own and manage projects from front to end, engaging with the requestor, business, and developer Communication – Independently communicate with key stakeholders, manage delivery expectations, and escalate when needed People Leadership – Manage a team of Quant Analytics team members, setting strategy and guiding the team to meet objectives You will have the opportunity to do work for several different CCB & AWM businesses, gaining exposure to a broad foundation of analytical estimation controls and data scientist business functions. Each project request is unique and presents a novel problem to solve. We will ask you to apply your fresh perspective and propose a solution perhaps we hadn’t considered. We will encourage you to research, reach out to business partners and work independently, all while offering support whenever you need it. Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities: Bachelor’s Degree or higher 6 years of related experience within Controls, Marketing, Finance, or Risk Management; experience evaluating Controls, complex business problems, data analysis or Program Management. The skills that you will develop or enhance include: Project Management – All aspects of project life cycle Programming Languages – Development of SAS / Python / SQL is supported but prior experience is not required.
