Your Opportunity Charles Schwab provides clients with three separate bank entities to service their banking needs that work seamlessly with their investing experience. These banks include Charles Schwab bank for direct retail banking, Charles Schwab Premier Bank serving advisors and clients with complex banking needs, and Charles Schwab Trust Bank, custodian of retirement plan accounts. Schwab Banking Operations provides operational support for all Schwab banks supporting external and internal clients to fulfill our purpose of championing every client’s goals with passion and integrity. The Bank Platform team is responsible for facilitating the continuous improvement and maintaining the viability of Schwab bank systems that support deposits accounts, home loans, strategic borrowing, and asset transfer capabilities. The team demonstrates its business and technical expertise in partnership with business and technology collaborators to implement a strategic vision for the platform including participation in requirements, prioritization, design, development, testing and certification activities. This individual will use domain knowledge, technical skills, and critical thinking to solve business problems and address opportunities. This individual will serve as a change agent who identifies the organizational improvement needs and guides the orchestration of designing systems to fulfill the strategic goals & objectives of the firm, the Bank Platform vision, and enterprise interdependencies. Within this team, this role will report to the Director supervising bank core system functionality. This individual will contribute to the planning, design, and documentation of the target-state platform with a focus on vendor integration, transformation, and efficiency. The individual in this role will collaborate with key business & IT partners by interpreting requirements and priorities. The role will require a mix of business and technical knowledge, acting as a liaison/partner to maintain business and IT alignment. What you are good at Provide thought-leadership on vision; roadmaps for system development and achieving sprint goals Participate in development of strategic vision for the Banking Operations Platforms and partner with technical architects to define high level systems organization Focus on outcomes rather than just output Partner with technical architects to create project roadmaps including initial feature requirements and mapping to appropriate functional systems Create presentations to share project vision, initial feature and epic breakouts and integration points with system product owners and scrum teams to drive estimation and backlog development Partner with cross-functional business and technology teams to create process models, user epics/stories and/or initial use case survey/use cases Understanding requirements by partnering with management and users to uncover needs Designing a system to meet the business objectives and goals Using techniques such as sampling, model building and structured analysis, to ensure the proposed solutions are efficient, cost-effective and financially feasible Produce business architecture diagrams and process mapping flows for programmers to follow Understand both business and technical dependencies between business areas and within systems that support or may be impacted by middle office functionality; upstream as well as downstream Facilitate and drive issues resolution and retrospectives between partners Develop expert ‘As Is’ knowledge of platform systems and help define ‘To Be’ system solutions and flows Handle intricate, high-profile projects (across multiple lines of business, domains, systems, and collaborators) Handle sophisticated vendor integrations, negotiating and resolving business requirement gaps with vendor and business and domain stakeholders Adapt to changing priorities and managing of multiple tasks Facilitate project onboarding by working with business, technology and project office team members in coordination with Enterprise Unified Planning activities to interpret and disseminate project vision, high level requirements and their platform impact. Work with technology partners to maintain a software service and component inventory for the platform and related systems Participate in data and system governance activities representing the Banking Operations platform, ongoing projects, and line Operations teams Lead and mentor business analysts and POs What you have Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent work experience 10 years’ business systems analysis or preferably business architect experience managing requirements for multiple large, complex, and cross-functional projects. Emphasis on systems, technologies, business process redesign, and knowledge of technical environments Deep experience with banking institutions. Thorough understanding of financial processes, products, and client needs Strategic approach to help drive product management decisions, governance, and long-term vision Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly analyze data to identify key insights and apply them to the business; quantitative and qualitative analysis Confidence in presenting both strategic and tactical vision to the team and management for both big-picture planning and day-to-day management of project goal Ability to align and unify ALL stakeholders to a shared vision and a common focus; including senior leaders Ability to analyze and communicate technology recommendations to business collaborators High attention to detail and the ability to see things through from concept to implementation Proven success orchestrating cross functional dependencies and risks to successfully delivery on multi-year programs Ability to quickly learn and design sophisticated new systems and business flows with an eye to identifying risks, dependencies, and opportunity Excellent interpersonal, organizational and negotiation skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to accurately document and review complex cross-functional business flows A self-starter who is highly functional in a multi-location environment.
