The Vacancy OVERALL SUMMARY CBAM manage c.£3bn in Alternatives across hedge funds, real assets and diversifying strategies within private assets, such as infrastructure, private equity, real estate, commodities, structured products and special situations. The Alternatives Analyst is part of a team that manage and source new investment opportunities and monitor our existing investments via meeting external managers. They also assist with the due diligence process, attend investment committees and help to execute transactions. As the candidate gains more experience, they will be able to lead the process on new idea generation and build coverage across a range of investments. They will be involved in informing the Alternative investment strategy and asset allocation and communicating this to stakeholders through the production of investment communication. RESPONSIBILITIES Contribute to CBAM’s Alternative strategy, process and product/service development Provide high quality analysis and recommendations relating to suitable investment opportunities and covering the firm’s main investment holdings Participate in ongoing projects and thematic reviews using discretion to deliver quality output Improve ESG/Sustainability in the investment process from end to end i.e. from new idea generation through to investment recommendations Assist in CBAM’s Alternative asset allocation constituents and weightings Promote Alternative investment products and services through engaging in investment debate in forums such as committees and by building relationships with stakeholders. Creating high quality quantitative analysis, data collection and model updates for stakeholders and investment committees Work with freedom to challenge and improve frameworks and procedures Ensuring that key risks are understood, owned, and controlled Ensuring regulatory compliance with all applicable laws, regulation and guidance Practicing CBAM’s principles and values Regulatory Responsibilities (Compliance/T&C) Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the regulatory framework relevant to the role, whilst practising effective risk management taking account of outcomes for clients.
